D.C., Connelsville, to Pa., was well-


known for its vanishing track- side landmarks in recent years. A decade ago fans flocked to the line as the last manned towers vanished at Hancock, Cherry Run, Viaduct Junction, Hyndman and other places. More recently, the line was a place to find numerous color position lights (CPL’s), the dis- tinctive B&O signals that guarded the line. All of this was set against the dramatic background of mountain rail- roading. Today the towers and signals are gone — with one notable exception.
