AFS Encourages Metalcasters

to Join MFG Day Manufacturers across the U.S. will be hosting and sponsor-

ing events to promote the country’s manufacturing industry with the second annual Manufacturing Day to be held Oct. 4. As a sponsor of the event, AFS encourages metalcasting busi- nesses to become involved by hosting, attending or providing resources for an event. “Manufacturing Day is a great opportunity to shift Ameri-

cans’ perception that it is not our grandfather’s manufacturing anymore and to showcase the tremendous career opportuni- ties manufacturing has to offer,” said National Assocation of Manufacturing President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Tis day is an engaging way to attract young people and get them ex- cited about pursuing a career in a technology-driven, innova- tive environment that will also provide a good-paying job. We encourage all manufacturers and manufacturing associations to get involved and share what we already know—manufac- turing makes us strong.”

A toolkit to help plan a Manufacturing Day event is avail- able at www.mfg.com. Te toolkit includes resources on event formats, audiences and tips for success.
