Indumil, Bogota, Colombia, will expand its foundry to include no- bake production of sand molds and a fully integrated sand reclamation system in Colombia. Te company will add high speed sand mixers, sand reclamation,


compaction tables, pneumatic transporters, powder feeders, mold spray coating, as well as a magnet- ic separator, heater/cooler/classi- fier, mold handler, bucket elevator and cooling towers. Palmer Manufacturing & Supply


Inc., Springfield, Ohio, was awarded a contract for more than $1 million in foundry layout, engineering, en- vironmental consulting, integration and equipment installation. Palmer recently opened a


South American engineering and sales office and increased engi- neering, sales, and production personnel in the U.S. to support this expansion. Indumil’s expansion is scheduled to be completed in November.


NEWSCAST Alcoa, New York, has announced


it will close or curtail 164,000 metric tons of smelting capacity in the United States and Brazil as part of its smelting capacity review. Te closures and cur- tailments will be complete by the end of September. Alcoa will have 16%, or 646,800 metric tons of smelting capacity idle. Alcoa produces primary and fabricated aluminum, and it is a bauxite miner and alumina refiner. It markets flat-rolled products, hard alloy extrusions and forgings, as well as Al- coa wheels, fastening systems, precision and investment castings, and building systems. It employs approximately 61,000 people in 30 countries around the world.


Synchro ERP Ltd. has offi-


cially changed its company name and moved. Te new name is BM Synchro ERP Ltd., London, WZ1N 3XX, UK. Synchro offices in the U.S., Brazil, Spain and Germany remain unchanged. Growth in the U.K. market reportedly necessitated the relocation to larger premises.

Eirich has sites in France, Russia, Ukraine, the U.S., Brazil, South Africa, India, China and Japan. Eirich has approxi- mately 1,500 employees.
