Sports mad Cricket is the national passion of the islands, particularly in Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua, Saint Lucia, Guyana and Trinidad, where many top players hail from. The islands hold regular matches. The ascendancy of world-class athletes and Olympic gold medallists has focused more attention on the region’s sporting credentials.  which have modern stadia, while marathons are held on islands including Montserrat, Barbados, Nevis, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, attracting locals and visitors. Several hotels offer sporting activities and the Buccament Bay Resort on St. Vincent even has its own Liverpool FC


lternatively, why not explore an underwater shipwreck, perfect your swing at one of the many championship golf courses or sit back

Some of the world’s top championship courses can be found on islands including Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, The Bahamas and Barbados while St Kitts, Nevis, St Maarten and St Croix in the US Virgin Islands also have good facilities. As spectator sports go, few could be more novel than goat racing, the local tradition in Tobago, but visitors with a more competitive streak can play polo in Jamaica and Barbados or watch horse racing, a favourite pastime on St Kitts, Nevis, Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados where meetings are regularly held.
