Thought-provoking Cascade wins UKIE’s UK Game of the Show award

UK TRADE association UKIE handed out its own Game of the Show award yesterday.


The winner – selected from a longlist of games from the British businesses attending Gamescom – was Cascadefrom Fayju. MCV’s sister title Develop helped select the winner. along with UK studio Fat Pebble, and UKIE itself. Cascadewas chosen as a prime example of the remarkable developing talent within the UK, the prize organisers said.


The game is an Oculus Rift 3D shooter but it’s about a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. “It wasn’t an easy decision by any means,” said Jo Twist, CEO of Ukie, “but the judges felt that Fayju created a

The hit creation game has generated millions of fans on PC and mobile, and over the last year has taken Xbox Live by storm. Minecrafthas even


topped the retail charts this summer three times with the recently-released Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.

announced the game would be coming to Xbox One at E3, and now PlayStation is helping create versions for its platforms, too. The PS4 version was announced on Tuesday, but a tweet from PlayStation dev Adam Boyes confirmed it for PS4 and Vita too. He said: “Everybody’s gettin’ some Minecraftaction.” No release date for the PS3 and Vita versions have been given.

support Fayju in the coming year. Fayju and its game, Cascade, will be press released by UKIE and profiled in Develop magazine very soon.
