1990s Timothy R. Colbeck (BS91) is the


executive director of the Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority, where he works in economic and community development.


Lori L. Pittman (BBA91) has been admitted as a shareholder in Mize Houser & Company P.A., Certified Public Accountants. Lori joined the firm in 2005.


Cheryl L. Bush (BS92, BS07) is a co-founder for Soul2Sole running club, a non-profit organization based in Clarklake. Bush also recently completed all six World Marathon Majors—the first American female to do so. She was featured in the July 2013 issue of Runner’s World Magazine.


Dr. Darrell E. King (MA95) is the senior associate director for multicultural business programs for Michigan State University.


Scott Reynolds (BS95), producer and executive story editor for the television series “Dexter,” was the speaker at Eastern Michigan University’s spring commencement ceremony.


Daniel F. Ritch (BS95) was recently appointed to the position of executive director of information technology for Magna Powertrain.


David S. Vanhoose (BS96) is the owner of MVP and Associates, a consulting service company that trains speakers and businesses in personal development, internet marketing, business opportunities, stock trading, software, health and wellness and network marketing.


Michael P. Joseph (MA97) has been named Hartland Consolidated Schools 2013


Teacher of the Year. Michael teaches Honors Algebra 2, Honors Trigonometry and Trigonometry at Hartland High School.


Matthew R. Ames (BBE98, MBE00) is the recipient of this year’s Michigan Marketing Educators Association Dr. Louis R. Graziano Outstanding Marketing Educator Award.


Laura L. Huot (MS98) has been appointed to vice president of programs and COO for Judson Center, a non-profit human


service agency providing services in autism, behavioral health, child welfare and disability services.


Tania L. James (BS98, MPA11) has been hired as the associate director of Ozone House, a non-profit agency whose


purpose is to assist at-risk youth by providing shelter and counseling. James was also named the 2013 Woman of the Year by the Zeta Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.


Rep. Harvey Santana (BS99, MPA05) was awarded the Henry Ford Community College Distinguished Alumni Award.

(BS00) has been named editor of the Petoskey News Review, a daily newspaper in Petoskey. She was previously a reporter for the publication.


Karen J. Sterzik (BBA00, MS10) is the recipient of the Michigan Marketing Educators Association’s Dr. Jack T. Humbert New Professional of the Year Award, given annually to an educator who manages an outstanding marketing education program. Sterzik teaches at Milan Area Schools.

Rochelle L. Rizzi (BS00) is the founder and president of Rizzi Designs, a design team focused on innovation for the benefit of its clients. The most recent innovation is the 3D animation division of the firm called RD3D.


Cindy L. Hasselbring (MA01), a former Milan High School teacher, is finishing her second year as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the U.S. National Science Foundation in Arlington, Va. She was also recently recognized as one of the “Nifty Fifty” for the USA Science and Engineering Festival.


Jeffrey D. Mass (MS01) is the president of Diverse Dimensions, an agency that assists companies with the improvement in quality, efficiency and profitability through various measurement based disciplines.


Sarah J. Perry (BA02) has sold her novel “Dream Girl” to Scribe Publishing of Royal Oak. The novel is set for a November 2013 release.

Jessica M. Strasser (MS03) has been named the new human resources director for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.


Erica N. Williams (BS04) is an outreach specialist for the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, a position that allows her to start Girl Scout troops in low-income areas.


Glenn M. Auerbach (MS05) has been promoted to IT director of Edwards Brothers Malloy, the fifth largest book manufacturer in the U.S.


Dr. Christian F. Casper (MA05) is a lecturer in Technical Communication in the College of Engineering at the
