proximity switches that considerably increases the sensors' lifespan. During the production process, parts that repeatedly touch the sensors can cause mechanical damage that destroys them little by little. This is now prevented by means of a special clamping block which is designed to hold the sensor surface behind a fixed stop, requiring no adjustment. This prevents any direct contact yet ensures the reliable detection of workpieces. The combination of stainless steel sensor and clamping block is suitable for especially demanding environments where excellent resistance to shock, vibration, and impacts is essential. The units are designed for use with the M12, M18, and M30 sizes from EGE's IGV series of stainless steel inductive proximity sensors which are especially impact-resistant. They also withstand vibrations, metal cuttings and abrasive media as well as aggressive cooling liquids and lubricants, which makes them ideally suited for use in extremely rugged industrial environments. Moreover, ensure excellent electromagnetic compatibility.

ogether with an automotive manufacturer, EGE has developed a protective bracket for inductive
vailable from specialist distributor Switchtec, Sirena’s TWS range of light towers has been expanded with the addition of three new modules to the stackable tower Automax range. The TWS range provides visual and/or audible indication of the status of a wide variety of process machines, vehicles, lifts and other factory and industrial equipments.
A Automax is Sirena’s most complete
range of modular and multifunctional stacklights purpose engineered for the automation industry. The TWS S is a multifunctional SuperBright LED module offering no less than four effects, namely steady, flashing, strobe and a new random effect.
Exhibiting versatility, six different dome colours are available:
blue, amber, red, green, yellow and clear. The TWS RGA is a multicolour, SuperBright LED module with three levels (colours) of alarm from one module: green, amber and red. The third module, the TWS A+ is an electronic sounder that has 16 different tones, a maximum sound level of 93dB and a high degree of protection for a sounder of CE/IP65 GOST UL/NEMA 3R (pending). TWS S and TWS RGA offer an excellent degree of protection to CE/IP66 GOST UL/NEMA 4X (pending) and operate from 12/24V AC/DC supplies. The TWS A+ is similarly empowered, but is also able to operate from 90/240V AC supplies. All three modules are available in base unit colours of grey or black.

Seal-less bypass valves give smooth dependable system protection
diaphragm bypass valves that are reported to provide accurate, repeatable smooth response without causing chatter in bypass
lines.The Hydra-Cell
W
C62/C63/C64 Series offers accurate, repeatable, smooth operation with minimal pressure surge and chatter-free bypass. Available in a choice of 316 stainless steel, Hastelloy or brass body with PTFE or Viton O rings and PTFE diaphragm these valves are ideal for use in systems pumping corrosive or dirty liquids. They can be used with any positive displacement pump with flows up to 151 lpm. The Hydra-Cell Valve design is simple: a tapered plunger with an attached diaphragm. When excess pressure overcomes the adjustable spring pressure on the plunger, the plunger lifts off the valve seat, allowing fluid to bypass and reduce system pressure. When a system discharge is completely closed such as a closed spray gun, closed valve or plugged nozzle the Hydra-Cell Valve bypasses the total system fluid flow. Thanks to their immediate response these valves also balance system pressure for multiple-gun operations.

ABB releases upgrade to best-selling IRB 1600 robot
Higher payload, outstanding cycle times and incredible accuracy add value to the workhorse of ABB’s robot lineup
A
BB Robotics has released an upgrade of one of its most popular products, the IRB 1600. Now offering an extended payload up to 10 kg, the IRB 1600 provides a flexible solution for a range of applications, including machine tending and material handling through to arc welding and cutting. The increased payload expands the already-large range of
general industry applications the IRB 1600 can serve. The improved payload is available for both the 1.2 meter and 1.45 meter robot variant. “The IRB 1600 was already able to work in some incredibly diverse and demanding environments,”
said Per Lowgren, Product Manager. “This upgrade is an important step in maintaining the IRB 1600’s leadership role and will allow our customers to increase productivity with shorter cycle times and higher payloads.” The IRB 1600 is already well-known for its combination of accelerations and accuracy. Second
generation QuickMoveTM motion control and the low friction spur gears help cut cycle times by up to 50 percent compared to competitor robots. Meanwhile, ABB’s TrueMoveTM technology and a stiff design enable superb path accuracy even at high speeds. “With IRB 1600, significantly increasing the output and ensuring improved work piece quality should be a realistic expectation for many users,” said Per Lowgren. “As a company we are proud to offer our customers this competitive edge while providing an energy efficient robot with noise levels that are lower than that of the competition.” The upgrade improves upon the IRB 1600’s other existing advantages, such as solid protection for use in harsh environments (IP 67 and Foundry Plus 2) and total mounting flexibility. The 1.2 meter reach variant also makes the robot more dexterous in confined spaces for improved reach and flexibility. All ABB Robotics' products are fully supported by the ABB Robotics’ global sales and service organization in 53 countries and over 100 locations.

he integration of machines onto a plant’s network architecture can prove difficult as OEM IP-address assignments rarely match those of the end-user network IP-address requirements. This is challenging for the machine builder and end user as IP addresses are generally unknown until the machine is being installed, which can add cost and time to the commissioning of the equipment, and delay moving that equipment into production. Rockwell Automation has addressed this challenge with the Allen-Bradley Stratix 5700 managed industrial Ethernet switch, which now includes an optional integrated Network Address Translation (NAT) feature.
Ethernet Switch T
The hardware-
based NAT feature allows for high performance and simplified integration of IP-address mapping from a set of local, machine-level IP addresses to the end user’s broader plant-process network. This can greatly benefit manufacturers that are integrating identical machines into a production line, especially when multiple equipment builders are being integrated into a common production line.
