always delightful and enchanting Dusty Wellborn. Bruce and June Howard hosted a pre-concert dinner for the candidates, which included the Howards’ son John, who was performing in his last YOGC concert before graduating high school, as well as several sponsors, including Alex Saunders, Suzanne Saunders, Gary Wortley and Constantina Tsolainou, Rex and Lynn Whiddon, Stacy Poydasheff, Cameron Bean, Sam Wellborn and granddaughter Mary Claire Jones. Te conducting competition was fierce. Dusty used some serious firepower, including the aforementioned granddaughter Mary Claire who helped solicit donations right up to the start of the concert, ensuring her the coveted conductor prize for the con- cert finale. All in good fun for a good cause as the YOGC supports and educates these magnificent young musicians.
