EYEBROW ENHANCEMENT

by Anna- Louise Gilhooley

You may be surprised to hear that cosmetic tattoos (or semi- permanent make-up as it is now better known) first became popular in the 1930s, with beauticians using vegetable dyes to add colour to the top layers of skin. Using the Nouveau Contour Machine to deposit tiny hypo-allergenic implants of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, Jo methodically and perfectly applies tiny individual hair strokes. Different shades of pigment are used to create a 3D effect. Jo repeatedly goes over the brow until she reaches the right density. Colours are mixed to each individual’s needs, to complement their skin tone and hair colour. The textured hair stroke technique results in an unbelievably natural

I was amazed by how realistic the results were. These before and after pictures show the difference

Jo gave me. My new brows look so natural that although I can’t help shouting about them, if I didn’t I guarantee no- one would batt an eyelid (or raise an eyebrow)!
