K.I.S.S. Night Lights


A series of photos taken at 15-minute intervals demonstrating the newly installed lights. Right at sunset with aircraft mounted on a pole and held in a clamp much like an indoor models holding fixture. This was done to eliminate all variables except the lighting and to get consistent results for a time lapse


comparison. This picture (above left) is with the lights off. Now with the same model at the same time with lights on (above right). 15 minutes after sunset with lights off (below left), and with lights on (below right) gives the pilot a point of reference when the lack of light can be so demanding on ones eyes.


30 minutes after sunset with lights off (above left) at the point where most pilots would land as the airframe is slowly starting to blend into the dark sky.

With the lights on (above right) visibility of the aircraft is much easier. Use of alternating colors helps keep orientation of the model in low light.
