Brockwood Park School is an international co- educational boarding school in Hampshire that has undertaken a large refurbishment to its accommodation facilities using Fermacell dry- lining board.

A building material such as Fermacell is particularly appropriate for this type of accommodation because of its ‘one-board type’ solution suitable for walls, floors and ceilings that enables the board to be used throughout the project to improve overall impact, acoustic and fire performance. Peter Brodbelt, associate of Roderick James Architects LLP, comments: “We used Fermacell’s dry-lining board on the floors, ceilings and partitions for its denseness, acoustic separation and robust qualities. The dry-lining board was a prominent material used throughout the build and was fitted easily to softwood studwork. “The board provides the project with the required robust finish needed for a busy and high activity building.”


The project was completed in April 2013 and 5,000 metre sq of Fermacell was specified.


UK manufacturer has designed a dual purpose, fully lockable ICT desk that is being marketed at under £500. The bespoke design allows schools and colleges to utilise ICT classrooms for normal lessons. Monitors, keyboards and pc base units are fully locked away yet are quickly accessible when required. The monitor moves down within the unit to become completely hidden. Junckers take to the stage

hen independent day school Yarm


School commissioned Associated Architects to design a new auditorium, Junckers’ Nordic Oak solid hardwood floor was specified.


Part of a £20M redevelopment


programme, the impressive purpose designed auditorium houses a fully flexible stage/studio theatre and an adjacent music performance space. The technical challenges raised by the heavy load of the 400 capacity


retractable seating were overcome by Junckers’ Technical Department who worked closely with the architects throughout the project.
