Nimba Conseil has recently been most active in the mining and metals sector and crucially it has been acting as counsel to the government on the social and environmental impact of Rio Tinto’s planned infrastruc- ture projects for its mining operations in the country. The firm, led by Aminata Tall, has associations with JW Ffooks & Co in Madagascar, Norton Rose and Deloitte.


Matters The firm assisted Toubal in renewing its mining permits, involving all contingent environmental and compliance issues, and Forward Africa Re- sources in due diligence on its mining permits. Similar work was under- taken for Atlantic Mining Guinee while the office has also been advising the government of Guinea on legal, social and environmental aspects of planned infrastructure projects by Rio Tinto across the country.
