Welcome...

It looks like Spring has finally made her appearance, and with this in mind this month we turn our attention to the wedding season. Sure, weddings take place all year round, but at this time of year we all go a little ga-ga for beautiful brides.

Melissa Dennis Irish Beauty Editor

Whilst for the romantics amongst us the wedding season is a celebration of love and commitment, for the business-minded salon owner, it also represents the start of a profit-boosting period. Weddings represent a wonderful business opportunity, as it tends to be the one occasion where women, and men, are prepared to pay a premium to be indulged.

From the obvious bridal makeovers, including pre-nuptial skin, nail and slimming programmes followed by wedding day make-up, the opportunities for you are endless. There’s bridesmaids who’ll want tanning and manicuring, the mother-of-the-bride who’ll want to look and feel 10 years younger, and even the groom and best man who’ll need fresh-faced makeovers following the stag do.

For some inspiration on how you can offer salon packages to suit all members of the bridal party, take a look at Sam Lloyd’s article on page 43. Sam also highlights how to create the perfect French with L&P – ideal for brides, whilst Claire Matthewman puts her best foot forward to discover treats for feet, perfect for pre-honeymoon pampering.

Plus, don’t miss Part 1 of our Irish Beauty Show Review from March’s event. We had so many fab photos, you’ll be able to catch Part 2 in our June issue. Enjoy!

Best wishes,
