Carolyn Litwin Rothschild ’46 of Mil - burn, NJ, died January 8. An English ma - jor, she earned a master’s in early child- hood development from Cornell. An advo- cate for at-risk children, she founded Play - house Nursery School in West Orange and volunteered in Newark family courts in child placement reviews. Active in the Democratic Party, she was on the creden- tialing committee at the 1972 convention. She leaves husband David, a daughter, two sons, five grandchildren, and a brother. NY, died December 25. A history major, she led many civic and cultural organiza- tions in the capital district. An alumna of St. Agnes School (later the Doane Stewart School), she was a staunch supporter and received its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2003. She was a life member of the Dutch Settlers Society of Albany and a member of the Mohawk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Albany County Historical Society, and the Albany Institute of ]History and Art. A Junior League volunteer, she was a sus- taining member of its choral group, the Choraleaguers. Priscilla Lerch Hardiman ’49 of Delray Beach, FL, died February 17. An art major, she worked at Williamson Associates as a commercial artist for Kodak before her marriage. She studied at the Vermont Studio Center and with noted artists at the Delray Beach Art Center and Florida Atlantic University. She was an accom- plished watercolorist whose work was included in Monhegan, the Artists Island and in many private collections. She also worked in textiles and ceramics. A long- time volunteer for Bethesda Hospital in Delray Beach, she was a Skidmore class and campaign volunteer. She is survived by husband Charles, daughter Anne Har - di man Crothers ’78, a son, and sister Anne Lerch Sofronas ’56. Nancy Calhoun Wamsley ’49 of Rocky River, OH, died February 3. A business major, she was an executive assistant. She served on community boards for the Cleveland Orchestra, Great Lakes Theatre Company, West Shore Concerts, Chil - dren’s Aid Society, and more. She was a champion golfer. For Skidmore she was Friends of the Presidents chair, class fund chair, class agent, and reunion volunteer. Elaine Votaw Bell ’49 of Gladwyne, PA, died January 10 of complications from a stroke. An art history major, she began her career as a window dresser for Wana - maker stores in Philadelphia before launching her own interior design busi- ness. She was a trustee of the Pennsyl - vania Academy of the Fine Arts. She espe- cially enjoyed playing tennis. She served Skidmore as a longtime class agent and reunion historian and represented the College at the inauguration of Lehigh University’s 12th president. died January 13. A physical education major, she earned a master’s from the University of Washington, where she became an associate professor in the PE department. A championship amateur golfer, she helped found UW’s women’s golf program in 1958 and chaired the Pacific Northwest Golf Association’s Junior Golf Committee and Women’s Division for 17 years. A two-time state women’s champion, a PNGA women’s champion, and a PNGA women’s senior champion, she was inducted into the PNGA Hall of Fame in 1989. She owned and operated rainwear company Action Fashions from 1981 to 2008. A member of PEO International, she was devoted to fostering educational opportunities for women. She is survived by her sister-in- law, a nephew, two nieces, and seven grandnieces and grandnephews. Marion Rendell Seaton ’55 of Glen Rock, NJ, died March 18, 2012. For Skidmore she established the Donald and Abbie Bingham Henn Endowed Scholarship Fund and supported her class fundraising in honor of her 50th reunion.
