reminisce about life on the old campus. Rosemary Lawton MacCoun and

Town send had a fun “remember when” visit with me and Bill this past fall. Rose - mary’s twin sister, Ann, and husband Don are both in nursing homes in Florida. The telephone helps them keep in touch and renews their spirits. Mesa, AZ, resident Sallie Walstrum Her -

man Bailey shared the sad news that hus- band Bob passed away at age 88 from kid- ney failure while Sallie was in the hospital having hip surgery. Her operation was successful, and she is now back to playing golf and swimming. She spent Thanks - giving in Coronado, CA, at the Herman family reunion. Her oldest grandson is in flight training at Lemoore Naval Air Sta - tion in California. Jackie Pinover Mulrow enjoyed a won- derful visit with Flo Shoemaker Taylor and husband Patrick at the Mulrows’ home in Perrysburg, OH. The Taylors were on their way to New York State to hunt deer. All is well with both couples. Jean Adams Shaw and Biff moved from

their home of 57 years in Middletown, CT, to Essex Meadows, a retirement com- munity in Essex. It is a big change, but they are meeting many interesting people. Jean notes that she has seen several Skidmore students visiting grandparents there, and her next-door neighbor gradu- ated from Skidmore in 1942! Jean hopes classmates will remember the Annual Fund this year, and she would love to add to our class’s Friends of the Presidents list. Pat Carle Powers spent two weeks in Paris in October and added a side trip to the Black Forest region in Germany. She was in France to visit her housemate from her junior year. Pat’s only complaint is that the days fly by too rapidly, and she can’t do everything she’d like to; she’s wondering if she’s just moving too slowly! Holidays with family in Virginia give her a chance to watch her grandniece and grand - nephew grow physically and mentally. BoBo Leibert Beers was looking forward

to attending her granddaughter’s gradua- tion from Middlebury College in May. My grandson John Bienkowski ’12 and

I made plans to celebrate his fifth and my 65th Skidmore reunion in 2017. Such fun to plan ahead! BETTY JOHNSON BOOTHE 14 HEEGEONG DRIVE DENNIS, MA 02638-2220 508-385-5735 BETTYBOOTHE@GMAIL.COM

Elizabeth says, “It was wonderful to see Sue, and we enjoyed our day!” Carol Feuerman Gertz had had hard times: her husband, Jerry, passed away in July, and her summer house was flooded by Superstorm Sandy. Norma Morse Edelman has retired

from wedding planning. She misses her work but likes being able to swim a lot and enjoy other activities in California. Jean Ellen Silverman Kaufman spent

two months this past winter in the hospi- tal with heart and lung problems. She later spent a well-deserved five weeks in Saint Maarten. Sylvia Shaw Brandhorst still divides the year between homes in Carlisle, MA, and Ormond Beach, FL. She connects with Sally Sanderson Cutler, Betty Cluck, Ellie Reponen Cronin, and Jackie Travis McNally when she is in Massachu setts and New Hampshire. Joan Watson Berkey looks forward to

our 60th class reunion in May! BARBARA HOLDEN MOULTON 291 WASHINGTON STREET ARLINGTON, MA 02474-1503 781-646-7688 RBCPRJBJM@RCN.COM

Sandy’s devastation on Long Island; all in all, it was a testament to the resiliency of her neighbors. Hopes for spring and recovery are high! In Newtown, PA, Sallie Neuweiler Henrie enjoys a busy and happy retire- ment, six years in and counting. She and husband Art volunteer at the George School and in their retirement commun - ity. She says, “Life is great, and we feel very lucky and thankful.” Volunteering keeps Lydia Pardo Mc - Minn on the run weekly, while most weekends are spent on the slopes in Vermont. The annual family gathering at Thanksgiving included the entire clan, except for three grandsons who work in Aspen, CO. Mar cia Weeks Clayton and husband

John sent news that they are considering moving to an assisted-living community in Brunswick, ME, to be nearer their daughter and son-in-law.

Mary Hamilton McLaughlin sent a detailed account of Superstorm

Nancy Wilcox Lillis’s husband, Bill, wrote in to share that Nancy has Alz - heimer’s disease. She doesn’t remember much but still recognizes Bill, who adds that Nancy maintains her happy person- ality and cheerful disposition. A new grandson is the year’s big news

from Marcie Clausen Gray. She and Woody have stayed mostly close to home in Atlanta; but thanks to the technologies of the age, they keep up with children and grandchildren via e-mail and Skype; they also enjoy occasional “live and in- person” visits. Joanne Ewig McCallum of Arcadia, CA, enjoyed a vacation with the whole family in Connecti cut, with lots of swimming, boating, and fishing. She and husband Bruce vacationed with friends in Maui, and this fall they had a great time tailgat- ing the USC games. In October Diane Webb Prescott en - joyed a mini-reunion with Jill Shelling Remy and Pat Kennedy Snyderman in NYC. Diane especially enjoyed seeing Jill for the first time since Jill left to teach in China. Mary Grindley Shepard reports that husband Jack is doing well, and their boys visit often. A summer visit from Sue Davis Tull and husband Bill was a bright spot last year. Nancy Cooke Luce accomplished a number of challenging stained-glass com- missions in 2012. In spring and summer she and Bob were visited by children and grandchildren, events that were enjoyed by all. On a drive to Dallas, TX, Nancy and Bob stopped to visit Cindy Lorenzen Wolff and Bill in Clinton, AR. Nancy reports that the Wolffs are doing well in their “air park” home, where Bill keeps his plane at the ready for adventures to new places. Although a stroke 12 years ago deprived Cindy of her speech, she is still communicating with effervescent smiles, laughter, and gestures. Nancy’s suggestion that they attend our 2014 reunion was met with a joyful shout from Cindy, and Bill promises to consider a venture to Saratoga Springs. Colorado Springs, CO, resident Pearl McKenney Silvernale and husband Pete are enjoying their grandchildren. Adelaide Warner Minott and husband Addison celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this year. They have two great-grandchildren. Adelaide is looking forward to reunion in 2014! Jo Schmidt Madden’s home was spared

from extreme damages during Superstorm Sandy, but many familiar roadways were closed. The same could not be said for her
