The Plauderville Station of N.J. Transit in Garfi eld, N.J., is a full-service station as of April 2012 and has high-level platforms making the station fully accessible. The station structure features a weather-protected, heated seating area with a glass painting from a lo- cal artist serving as its window. It has a canopy on the west side of the station that spans most of the platform, as well as a smaller canopy on the east, or outbound side. The shelter and two canopies are covered in 4,800 square feet of Englert Inc.’s 14-inch-wide, 0.032-inch aluminum Englert Series 2000 standing seam metal roof panels in Colonial Red. The metal roof was chosen for its durability and maintenance-free features. Fabricator Architectural Design Panels Inc.

(ADPI) had to hand-brake and install a custom 4 1/2-inch gutter to meet specifi cation mandates for the distance of the shelter area from the track bed. Plauderville is the latest in a series of stations where ADPI has served as fabricator, including N.J. Transit facilities in Princeton, Woodbridge, Union and Plainfi eld, as well as on the Metro North Rail Line in New York including Morris Heights, Yankee Stadium, Ludlow and Yonkers. N.J. Transit received $16 million in funds from

the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to construct the high-level platforms at Plauderville. The station serves N.J. Transit's Bergen County Commuter Rail Line with service to Hoboken, N.J., as well as local bus service. The platforms were constructed directly adjacent to an existing parking lot, reducing the walking distance between the parking and the boarding area.
