eading security products supplier, ESP, has added to its growing CCTV range with what it believes to be an industry first,
PowerCat - a complete CCTV CAT5e / 6 cabling solution that overcomes the problems of restricted distance due to voltage drop that are associated with existing technology. The attractive opportunity to cable a CCTV system with easy to install and terminate Cat5e/6 has existed for some time. A balun is introduced at both ends of the CAT5e/6 run to enable transmission of the camera’s analogue signal. The PowerCats are available in 4, 8 and 16 channel variants.
Each pack includes the hub along with Smoke Detectors
end infrared beam smoke detectors installed as part of its fire protection system. There are now a total of 860 Fireray products installed throughout the airport’s four terminals, which feature exactly the kind of large, high-ceilinged indoor areas that the range is designed to protect. Fireray end to end beam smoke detectors protect Concourse A of Dubai International Airport The Fireray’s ability to detect smoke over a 100m path between the transmitter and receiver heads, coupled with its minimalist visual impact and easy installation made it an ideal choice to the protect the state-of-the-art facility.

Flex on film
CC’s new RadiaLED bulkhead range solves the problem of LED hotspots and traditional visibility of unsightly 2D lamps. The unique radial configuration of the LEDs allows light to project horizontally across a highly reflective surface. Light is then transmitted outwards through the diffuser to create even illumination. Both the opal and prismatic diffusers have been engineered using high specification polycarbonate to enhance the light distribution and ensure maximum light output with no shadows or visible LED chips. This high output, invisible light source is in stark contrast to the flashing that occurs in 2D fittings and the glare associated with poor quality LED bulkheads. Unlike fluorescent products the instantaneous start-up is not affected by frequent switching or low temperatures. Zero maintenance is a key feature of this range; there are no maintenance

or re-lamping costs throughout the life of the product, which comes with a 5 year extended warranty.
JCC has initially launched two new products within this range – RadiaLED Style and RadiaLED Utility. The Style fitting has a sleek, domed diffuser and is ideal for interior use in stairwells and walkways. The Utility version is an IP65 rated vandal resistant bulkhead ideal for use in both interior and exterior applications where durability is a necessity. For optimal energy saving both RadiaLED Style and Utility are available with an optional microwave sensor. Activated by both movement and daylight levels, RadiaLED remains on only when required, switching off when the room is unoccupied or when daylight levels increase. Emergency versions are also available in both Style and Utility. RadiaLED by JCC – Intelligent design that is built to last.

lex connectors have produced a new animation to demonstrate how simple the flex7 lighting connection and control System is. The animation gives an overview of how the modular system fits together, and goes on to give examples of how it can be adapted to suit different scenarios. It introduces Bob, an Electrical Contractor who is unfamiliar with The flex7 System, and his boss who is a little indecisive. Bob begins the animation with no great interest in The flex7 System. The narrator has to persuade him that’s it worth taking the time to learn how The System works. Steve Garton, Managing Director explained ‘we wanted to demonstrate just how easy The flex7 System is to use, and Bob’s uninterested character was the best way to show just how simple it is for anyone to understand – however reluctant they might be to learn something new’. The modular nature of the system means that it is very quick and easy to install, and should there be changes to the use of the building, or layout of the rooms these can be accommodated easily.
