Dear Reader, It’s another month of education outside the

classroom with Ecobuild 2013 and The Education Show 2013 having recently taken place. These events are a great way to network with peers and examine the latest resources available to your institution. The Education Show offered a host of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities as well as a chance for educationalists to share their views on the latest National Curriculum changes. Caroline Wright, Director of BESA, tells you more about having

your say in her monthly column on p7 and you can read a full show review on p12.

We also have an interesting take on the ‘flipped’ classroom model on p19 where you can read how video technology is enhancing the learning experience. This month we’ve sourced some great charity resources to help teachers provide topical lessons around the subject of health and hygiene (p20); we’ve also got a case study that may change the way you think about handling your school’s data storage options (p8); some wise words on school funding approaches from the author of ‘Givenomics’ (p16); and comment from the founder of Ella’s Kitchen, Paul Lindley, regarding primary food education (p18). As always, you can keep in touch with us on Twitter via @EdTodayMag or visit our Facebook page. Until next month, enjoy the issue!
