Educational talks at Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo A

school visit to Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo, in Staffordshire, is more than just a great day out! It’s a giant physics experiment, a diverse business case study, an impressive IT lab and an exciting animal encounter. The park offers a range of interactive educational sessions designed in accordance with the National Curriculum. The sessions cater for all ages and can be tailored to your specific objectives, from business to biology. This year the park has welcomed new animals to the education department, which include a snow corn snake, a marbled praying mantis, some giant stick insects and a pair of assassin bugs.

Drayton Manor continues its excellent educational talks for primary schools, where children can explore biological artifacts, live animals, rollercoaster parts and K’Nex resources to enhance their learning. In September, the park will start new workshops, which include ‘Design a Ride’, where students will get to build their own rollercoaster, and ‘Animal Care’, where pupils create their own enrichment and this put into an animal’s habitat to see how they react. Meanwhile, secondary pupils can enjoy a range of fascinating talks on a variety of business subjects from customer service to marketing to ICT, all of which explore Drayton Manor in detail as a working example of business and tourism practices. All the sessions are highly interactive with regular activities and time for questions. Finally, Drayton Manor Education is launching a new newsletter for schools, called Discover Drayton, which will have all the latest news and offers, along with sections about careers, our educational talks, outdoor lesson ideas, and much more. This will be available for teachers to download free from our website, along with a wealth of new resources for schools.
