Participation for children is free. All ApiEXPO-2013 stands are automatically entered in the exhibition stands contest.

Universal Recognition

This year a great effort has been made to achieve universal recognition of the results of the World Beekeeping Awards. The rules and regulations of the contest programme have been harmonised to refl ect different cultural approaches to the quality of bee products in different parts of the world. The team of judges comprises 36 leading experts, representing over 20 countries and all the continents. The judges’ referee is Margaret Davies of the UK’s National Honey Show, who has over 20 years of experience in judging different bee products. The registration deadline for

the World Beekeeping Awards is 1 September 2013. Applications received after this date may be accepted until 15 September subject to a late registration fee. This, however, does not apply to the photography, multimedia, and printed materials classes, which close on 1 September. Interviews and photographs of each Grand Prix winner will be published on the offi cial website, www.apimondia2013. com.ua, and dispatched in a separate press release to all media partners of Apimondia along with information about the contest and the results. The WBA’s 150 winners will receive Apimondia medals and diplomas, while four best-of-the- best will receive trophies from the hands of the Apimondia President, during the Congress closing ceremony. ¤
