New Test System division
THE AMPLICON ENGINEER- ING division has launched a new Test Systems section that provides detailed information on how Amplicon can help design and build bespoke test system solutions. Amplicon’s engineering team is experienced in using and specifying a variety of technologies including PC-based data acquisi- tion, PXI, GPIB, cPCI, LXI and VXI.
Today’s customers demand more than simple techni- cal requirements - cost effective solutions, investment security and a high degree of availability are all cru- cially important. The ACOPOSmulti new drive gener- ation from B&R possesses all of these characteristics. The modular system allows machine designers the
choice of three mounting and cooling methods - con- ventional wall mounting, feed through mounting and also cold plate installation. This choice offers scope for energy savings as heat dissipation can be optimised.
Another key feature is the introduction of a trend setting power supply which ensures the highest level of efficiency through power factor correction, an integrated power regeneration unit and sophisticated diagnostics.
The goal is to alle- viate the design consid- erations and challenges encountered in the develop- ment of a test system including test requirements, development time, decreased budgets and test system longevity.

Bürkert open the doors to new UK HQ
LAST MONTH BÜRKERT opened its new, purpose built premises constructed around a modern fac- tory building in Cirencester. The opening day saw visitors embark on a guided tour around the building and a presentation from proud general manager, Paul Trevitt, to explain the rea- sons for the move and the ways in which the building had been customised to allow the com- pany to continue its growth.
Trevitt commented “We have been setting the pace in key sec- tors of the process market for some time now, and the require- ment to move to a more flexible headquarters is the obvious result of our growth. Ultimately our cus- tomers aren’t just buying prod- ucts from us - they are buying solutions and ongoing technical support.
