Multipix has introduced further models to the Basler Racer linescan camera range, now with resolution of 6K, 8K and 12K. Together with the 2k and 4K Racer models, Basler’s Racer linescan family covers the whole spectrum of stan-
dard line scan cameras. The Racer has a small footprint, measuring 56mm wide and 62mm high, and is available with either a Gigabit Ethernet or a CameraLink interface. The 8k model with the CameraLink interface reaches a
line rate of up to 80kHz. Highly sensitive CMOS sensor technol- ogy enhances the image quality, with low noise characteristics and a quantum efficiency of approximately 60%. The CMOS sensors use very little power and their innovative heat dissipation concept allows the cameras to stay cool to give a better image. Olsen Engineering has launched the new Exlar Tritex II DC TDM/X integrated actuator in the UK. Already available in AC rotary and linear versions, the new Tritex II can operate from 12V, 24V, 48V and 60V DC supplies in five different motion modes. It features an integrated energy efficient PM motor, high resolution position controller and amplifier as standard. The Exlar Tritex II has a built in non-volatile memory that
stores programmed functions for motion requirements for lin- ear and rotary motion control applications, product configura- tions and motion parameters. The specifically designed ‘Expert’ software allows fast commissioning of actuator appli- cations, configuring position or force control using a 0-10V or 4-20mA control signal, digital inputs or with the new EtherNet IP fieldbus. An Onboard RS/485 interface as standard provides control, programming and monitoring of all aspects of the motor or actuator. Exlar Tritex II actuators have a Class I Division 2 explosion-
proof rating for hazardous areas, with ATEX certification planned for next year. Ingress protection to IP54 or IP65 is available and the Tritex II also passes IP67 tests. In addition, subsea variations which can operate to 10,000ft below sea level are also available.
Another option consists of two types of front protective bel- lows - standard and high temperature Teflon coated fibreglass rated to 260ºC. Different coating options include stainless steel housing and main rod, Type III hard coat and food grade white epoxy. There is also the alternative of low temperature grease

allowing operation from -40ºC. In fact, even all aspects of the mounting and main rod dimensions can be customised specif- ically to suit the application needs. PM Electric actuators have been proved to consume at least 11 times less energy than pneumatic cylinders and 4.4 times less than a hydraulic with little or no maintenance, repeatable smooth positioning / applied force. to aid engineers A new application product selec- tor has been launched by CD Automation which cross-tabulates different single- and 3-phase machine loads from 30A to 2,700A for a comprehensive range of thyristor power controllers. The simplicity of the form presented to engineers hides the complexity of algorithms and processes, which combine to provide an optimal load configuration.
First, using drop-down menus throughout, the engineer enters his choice from the application and element type, and trans- former coupled with elements from graphite through short wave infrared to inductive loading. Next, the engineer can select the load configuration followed by the number of phases con- trolled, and then fields for ‘input control signal’, ‘firing mode’ and ‘required current (A)’.
