The 2013 World University


Games is being contested July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia. Trials for the USA Women’s


World University Games Team will be conducted May 16-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Player selections will be made


by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee. USA Basketball women's teams


have participated in 16 prior World University Games and collected a record eight golds, six sil- vers and one bronze medal. Further, since 1973, the first year the USA women competed in the WUGs, the United States has compiled a 95-15 record. In 2011 the USA, led by 2012


NCAA National Player of the Year nominees Elena Delle Donne, Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike, posted a perfect 6-0 slate en route to the gold medal.


FIBA Americas U16 Championship For Men USA Basketball will invite


approximately 30 athletes, 16-years-old or younger (born on or after 1/1/97), to the USA U16 National Team training camp that will be conducted May 30- June 7 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Members of the USA U16 Team will be selected by USA Basketball’s Developmental National Team Committee. The 2013 FIBA Americas U16


Championship, which is scheduled to be held June 11-15 in Punta del Este, Uruguay, will feature eight national teams from North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. Including host Uruguay, also qualified are Canada and the United States as the North American entries; while Puerto Rico (gold medalist), Mexico (silver medalist) and Bahamas (bronze medalist) qualified through the 2012 Centrobasket U15 Championship; and Argentina (gold medalist) and Chile (bronze medalist) qualified through the 2012 South American U15 Championship. Nike Hoop Summit The 16th annual Nike Hoop Summit


will undoubtedly continue to expand on the incredible legacy of the event. The 2013 Nike Hoop Summit will


again be played at the Rose Garden, home of the Portland Trail Blazers, on Saturday, April 20, 4 p.m. PDT. The Nike Hoop Summit is the


country's premiere annual basketball game and the only game featuring America's top male high school senior players taking on a World Select Team comprised of the world's top players who are 19-years-old or younger. The game is played under international rules. The 2013 USA Basketball Junior


National Select Team roster will be selected by the USA Basketball Men's Developmental National Team Committee. The USA enjoys an 11-4 series
