World University Games Team hopefuls will be held June 25-July 3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Player selections will be made by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee. The U.S. has claimed 19 medals in


the World University Games since begin- ning play in 1965, and has captured a record 13 golds, three silvers and three bronze medals in the 20 WUGs in which a USA Basketball squad has competed. USA teams owns a remarkable 138-9 win-loss record in WUG action. The 2011 USA Men’s World


University Games Team missed out on a medal after suffering a two-point loss to Lithuania in the quarterfinals to finish in fifth place with a tournament-best 7-1 record in Shenzhen, China.
