Throwing their weight behind the revo- lution, FCC Environment has taken lead sponsorship on three key outputs of the campaign – the whitepaper, the inter- views and a live panel debate where the learning from the campaign thus far will be discussed.

This live panel debate, which takes place in Central London on May 10th, will be followed by a brand new awards event, recognising the leading edge in innova- tion in this area. FCC’s head of market- ing & communications Kristian Dales said that the Resource Revolution was a great opportunity for the company to lead the debate on changing perceptions around waste.

“The Resource Revolution is bringing the whole supply chain together in a lively dialogue about how waste that was once considered merely as a problem is now seen as an essential part of the growth of a new and sustainable green economy,” he said.

The White Paper will be available for download on edie.net later this month. For more information about any campaign elements or to attend the panel debate and awards, visit www.resourcerevolution.net or use the Twitter hashtag #resourcerev.

APP ends natural forest clearance

Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) has announced an end to the clearing of nat- ural forest across its entire supply chain in Indonesia. All of APP’s suppliers have suspended natural forest clearance whilst independent assessments take place to identify areas of high conservation value that will be protected through a long- term management programme. High Carbon Stock (HCS) assessments undertaken by The Forest Trust (TFT) will identify all forested areas, enabling APP to ensure that future plantation development does not take place in forests.

Chairman of the APP Group, Teguh Ganda Wijaya, said: ‘We are doing this for the sustainability of our business and for the benefit of the society. We hope our stakeholders will support our new policy, help us along the way and urge other industry players to follow”. Initially, APP’s Sustainability Roadmap

With the implementation of the new policy this objective has been acceler- ated by almost two years.

APP has said that the HCVF and HCS policies will be applied immediately to all further expansions or developments of its business.
