Ladies’ College Facility The Parabola Arts Centre (PAC) Opened July 2009

Designed by Foster Wilson Architects, this is a state-of-the-art auditorium, with a 325-seat auditorium, teach- ing space and dance studio Head of drama Mark Smith says: ‘The beautifully intimate PAC theatre allows us to stage a wide range of plays, from classical to contemporary works.’


Oundle School


Facility SciTec science facility Opened 2007

Charterhouse Facility All-weather pitches and courts Opened January 2012


Two new high-quality, sand-dressed hockey pitches with irrigation have been installed as well as six tennis courts with associated landscaping. The entire complex has floodlighting Director of sport Bob Noble comments: ‘Practices and matches for the entire abil- ity range of our many teams in each age group, as well as recreational hockey and tennis, can now be enjoyed in real style.’


St Mary’s School


Shaftesbury Facility Sixth-form extension Due for completion September 2013


The new sixth-form extension has been built to accommodate the increase in boarders and contains a common room and adjoining kitchen ‘Our sixth-form house, Mary Ward, is separate from the rest of school and pro- vides a wonderful setting for our girls to really mature and develop their life skills,’ believes headmaster Richard James.

Radley College Facility Clock Tower Square develop- ment Due for completion September 2013


Designed by architects Design Engine, this new teaching block in the centre of the college will consist of 10 new histo- ry and politics classrooms, gallery space and a coffee shop ‘This exciting new building will provide a contemporary social, cultural and teach- ing space at the heart of the college

The modernisation of five boarding hous- es is being managed by award-winning architects BuckleyGray- Yeoman and will involve the redesign of more than 200 bed- rooms and communal areas. Providing social and private study areas, the project will also preserve original Arts-and-Crafts detailing, such as fireplaces and staircases ‘The transformed accommodation will reflect the 125 years of Roedean’s heritage while setting a new standard for boarding in the 21st century,’ enthuses head- mistress Frances King.
