First Multiflo dewatering solutions built in Africa

Helping South East Asian energy demand through the power of partnership

As power demand in the region increases at a rapid rate, South East

Asian power generators face the constant challenge of maximising their power plant output and efficiency. Weir’s Engineering Services business strives to help by bringing specialist expertise in rotating equipment direct to customers through alliances with selected local partners to create ‘Weir Approved Repair Facilities’. These partnerships enable customers to take advantage of Weir’s design capabilities to address complex repairs and upgrades without the need to ship equipment out of territory. Weir is building a strong position as a viable alternative to original equipment manufacturing (OEM) repair or replacement in a way that is truly responsive to customers’ needs. The outcome for Weir has been an

The Multiflo DWU dewatering set

Weir Minerals Africa has manufactured the first Multiflo dewatering set outside Australia. The South African team developed sets from the new DWU range, the first to be mounted on trailers fitted with air braking systems to comply with onsite safety standards. The localisation of the Multiflo product

resolved a long-standing challenge for a Weir

Minerals Africa customer who needed to find a diesel driven pump set that could be moved in to the pit and could meet varying flows and heads. The 150 DWU proved most suitable. A South African version was developed utilising Multiflo’s proven design and four identical trailer-mounted pump sets were designed, manufactured and delivered to world class standards.
