BOP handling equipment - CE marked and ATEX certified - of course!

Amphenol’s New 8 AWG PV Connector

A

mphenol Industrial Global Operations, a global leader in interconnect systems, has launched the

first UL rated 8 AWG PV connector for use up to 1000 V. The new connector can accommodate larger cable sizes, allowing for more efficient DC system layout designs as well as reduced BOS (balance of system) component and equipment costs. The new UL1000 V 8 AWG connector uses the same mating interface as Amphenol’s current H4 connector making it easy to mate to all other wire gauges. It can be integrated into PV cable assemblies in a factory environment or installed on the job site. Amphenol’s 8 AWG connector is ideal for use by installers,

developers, module manufacturers,

combiner box companies and engineering procurement construction (EPC) firms in large scale utility and commercial PV installations. The UL certification to 1000 V allows for streamlined approval by local PV inspectors and financiers.

was delivered in late summer this year to United Oilfield Services, and the BOP handling equipment supplied with this contract comprised two J D Neuhaus Profi 20 Ti-H hoists, each equipped with overhead rail mounting motorised trolleys to provide individual 20 tonne lift capacities. A requirement of this handling equipment was that it should be CE marked and ATEX certified.

A

JDN hoists are all manufactured according to current design specifications and standards contained in: • Machine Directive 98/3, 94/9CE (ATEX), EN14492-2, EN13463-1 • Relevant section of ANSI/B30.16 • API 7K

SCOTT SAFETY EXPANDS WITH THE ZM PROTÉGÉ SINGLE GAS MONITOR

S

cott Safety announces the introduction of the Protégé ZM Single Gas Monitor – a zero maintenance single gas monitor that is easy to use and delivers high performance in a small, ergonomically designed package. The Protégé ZM is a zero maintenance solution, meaning no battery charging and no sensor calibration is necessary to operate the monitor. The monitor has a high performance battery which provides two years of operation. In typical conditions, calibration will not be necessary during the operational lifetime. Three single gas models are available including Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide.

Scott Safety is a premier manufacturer of innovative respiratory and other personal protective equipment and safety devices and offers a broad range of globally certified gas detection solutions including singlegas, multi-gas and fixed gas detection systems.

Bifold, Official Partner of the Marussia F1™ Team have linked Safety with Performance

B

ifold provide the widest range of relief valves for pneumatic and hydraulic instrument applications with pressures ranging from 7 to

1300 bar. Our relief valves are suitable for safety applications. Many other

relief valves of this type on the market, fail to perform the correct safety function required. The Bifold pneumatic relief valves have a very high flow and low dead band. The relief valves are a safety device designed to match Bifold’s high flow filter regulators. The device will limit the over pressure to less than110% of the set point in the event of a filter regulator mis-operation. Bifold precision relief valves have very high sealing forces along with accurate and narrow dead bands allowing system design pressure to be reduced.

he latest addition to the VEGA portfolio of vibrating limit switches for liquids, VEGASWING 66, is a world first. It is designed for reliable, self monitoring and fail safe switching in applications with process temperatures up to +450 °C and process pressures up to 160 bar. Until now, vibrating level switches have been limited to process conditions up to +280 °C and 100 bar. By developing a revolutionary new tuning fork drive, it makes deployment of the instrument possible far beyond these limits. The resulting performance capability is impressive: process temperatures from - 196° C to +450° C and pressures from 0 to 160 bar. Since it is virtually unaffected by product properties, such as changing product density and electrical properties, the vibrating level switch is very versatile. It can be installed in any orientation and supplied in lengths up to 6m, materials include: 316L, Inconel and Hastelloy. Adjustment with product level is not required for setup and it switches reliably and repeatably when a point level is reached.
