How I got started: I saw fi gure skating from the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy, on TV when I was 5 years old. I told my mom I wanted to do that, so she took me for a lesson and I’ve loved skating ever since. We had no idea there were ice skating rinks in Florida, and I did not know then that one of my future coaches (Fontana) was in those Olympics!

Memorable moment: My fi rst competition when I was 6 years old. I totally forgot my program. I started making something up, did the part I remembered a couple of times and got the silver medal.
