MERYL AND CHARLIE (interviewed by Charlie and Meryl)

So much has been written about Meryl Davis, 26, and Charlie White, 25. Still, their impressive body of work continues to tell the story: The four-time U.S. champi- ons (they were favored to win their fifth title in Omaha) have earned 12 consecutive Grand Prix Series gold med- als, have won four straight Grand Prix Final titles and are the reigning Olympic and World silver medalists. In 2011, they became the only U.S. ice dancing team to win the World Championships. Since becoming partners in 1997, they have been interviewed hundreds of times. With that in mind, SKATING thought it would be inter- esting to have the dynamic team interview each other. Their questions to one another are as illuminating as their answers.

Charlie, on Meryl

I have always admired Meryl’s level of commitment. It’s hard to find a partner who is willing to sacrifice so much that we have to sacrifice at this level. It just makes every- thing easier when your partner is as committed as you are, and I think that’s definitely what she’s helped bring to this partnership.

Charlie’s questions for Meryl

If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of ad- vice, what would it be? Live well, laugh often, love much. Simple words that I often try to keep in mind.
