White as your coaches. Or having Jeremy Abbott and Adam Rippon gliding over to off er you a few pointers. Or getting your picture taken with Gracie Gold. T ose were the experiences shared by dozens of skaters in Jamestown, N.Y.,
in December as U.S. Figure Skating hosted a SkateFest in conjunction with Dis- son’s “Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular.” SkateFests were held in conjunction this fall with 2012 Disson skating shows. Stars who perform in the Disson shows help to create a fun environment for
new and experienced skaters. SkateFests feature U.S. Figure Skating instructors, ice time and skates — all at no cost. T e Jamestown Skating Club helped support the eff ort in Jamestown with
instructors and volunteers. Having fun was the order of the day.
Youngsters in Jamestown , N.Y., turned out to get personal attention from several of the sport’s current stars.
