Sealing solutions from SKF Customized for your system performance
Sealing solutions for the Oil and gas industry SKF supplies products, which meet the tough operating conditions in many appli- cations onshore, offshore and subsea. Our sealing solutions are fitted and integrated into a wide range of components like valves, riser connectors, wellheads and trees, downhole tools etc.
Range of materials Our sealing materials have been developed in a wide range of standard and non standard materials. They include elastomers (NBR, HNBR, FKM, FFKM), thermoplastic elastomers (Polyurethanes) and thermo- plastics (PA, POM, PTFE, PEEK). Depending on the application, different modified com- pounds (e.g. low temperature elastomers, as well as virgin or filled PTFE of PEEK) are available.

Research and development SKF has a global network of testing facilities to analyze the different operating conditions. Based on these data we develop new ma- terials to meet the challenging demands of the applications: e.g. explosive decompressi- on, durability, improved chemical resistance and friction properties. Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) provides SKF developers with a tool to perform simulations of almost any operating conditions with different seal geometries to identify the critical areas in the seal design.
Benefits for our customers • From single piece to volume production • Enhanced safety at work • Increased environmental sustainability • Increased lifetime • Reduced downtime costs • Media and energy savings
