Stakes Results Imachickenkicker wins the Lone Star Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity
Imachickenkicker, a 2-year-old sorrel solid mare by Dos Poruno and out of Game Chicken, logged her second stakes victory of 2012 in the November 3 Lone Star Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Lone Star Park. Despite being bumped at the start, the gamely mare rocketed down the straightaway, running the 400- yard distance in :20.05 for a speed index of 82. For her win, Imachickenkicker earned $39,430 of the
race’s $103,762 purse for Shirley Wheeler, her owner and breeder from Boynton, Oklahoma—this brings the mare’s lifetime earnings to more than $83,000. Trained by Luis Villafranco, Imachickenkicker was ridden by Roy Baldillez.
Second across the fi nish line was Super Glide Harley, a 2010 sorrel overo gelding by Awesome Chrome and out of Biker Chick. Finishing in :20.12 and with a speed index of 80, the gelding added $17,640 to his earnings record, which now reaches nearly $100,000. Owned by Paint Horse Queens of Coweta, Oklahoma, the gelding was bred by Steven Wright of Coweta Oklahoma, trained by Dee Keener and ridden by Berkley Packer. The second-place fi nish helped Super Glide Harley clinch the Speedhorse High-Point Award, presented to the horse who earns the most points in the trio of 2012 Speedhorse futurities. Farms in Claremore, Oklahoma. A winner in one of the race’s three trials in October, Rah ran in third place, crossing the wire in :20.14 for a speed index of 79. The 2-year-old sorrel overo stallion took home $11,414 for his effort, which brings his fi rst- year earnings to $13,304. Sired by Awesome Chrome and out of Bullamia, Rah was bred by Ray Graves of Duncan, Oklahoma, and is owned by Judy Seely of Grandview, Texas. The stallion is trained by Judd Kearl and ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo. The fi eld also included Lajollas Mr Big Stuff, Hesa Sweet First Down, LD Flashback, Kaylees Krazy Paint, Laus Deo, Jes Dance and Honky Tonk Podie.
