Stakes Results CRM Livewire wins the inaugural Masterpiece Challenge


CRM Livewire, a 3-year-old bay tobiano stallion, posted a big win on November 3, capturing the inaugural APHA Masterpiece Challenge at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. Owned and bred by Dan Jones of Kemp, Texas, CRM Livewire ran the 400-yard race in :19.84 for a speed index of 87. For the win, the stallion earned $16,670 of the $27,330 purse—this brings his lifetime earnings to more than $90,000. Sired by Cartel Success (QH) and out of Elaina Go Go, CRM Livewire was trained by Matt Whitekiller and ridden by Cody Smith.


Running second in :19.95 was SW Eye Candy, a 2009 sorrel overo mare by Country Chicks Man (QH) and out of Ms Painted Eyeopener. Earning a speed index of 84, SW Eye Candy earned $4,646 for owners Steve Wright and Dee Keener of Inola, Oklahoma. Twhe mare’s lifetime earnings are now $78,314. Bred by Linda Fox of Maud, Oklahoma, SW Eye Candy was trained by Dee Keener and ridden by James Flores. Third across the fi nish line was Spotless Redneck, who ran the 400-yards in :20.00 for a speed index of 83. A 2009 sorrel solid gelding by Judys Lineage and out of Shero, Spotless Redneck was bred and is owned by Marion Hoskin of Ada, Oklahoma.
