LEO A DALY announces promotion and new hires
LEO A DALY, Omaha, Neb., promoted Sian Imber, vice presi- dent and former corporate director of public relations, to chief communications advisor to the chairman. The firm also ap- pointed Linda Eggerss to replace Imber as the new corporate director of public relations. Imber will work directly with LEO A DALY’s Chairman
and CEO, Leo A. Daly III, to direct and produce a monograph of the firm’s first 100-year history. The monograph will record the firm’s projects, events, people and stories, from its founding by Daly’s grandfather in 1915 in Omaha, through its international expansion under Leo A. Daly Jr., FAIA, and to its current position as a global leader in the architecture and engi- neering industry. She also will be working with the chairman on other communication assignments to enhance the firm’s overall global brand recognition. Imber has more than 30 years of experience in public re-
lations. After joining LEO A DALY in 1999, she spearheaded its strategic media relations efforts and was responsible for more than 3,000 media placements in newspapers, trade journals, online publications, television news segments and social media. Eggerss, who will be based in the firm’s headquarters
at Omaha, has more than 25 years of experience in leading public and media relations teams for Fortune 500 companies. She previously worked with Meredith Corp.’s Better Homes & Gardens brand media group, Des Moines, Iowa, where she served as a group editor overseeing the editorial production of five magazines with 15 annual issues and a website. LEO A DALY also welcomes Geoffrey S. Ax, AIA,
NCARB, LEED AP, as a regional aviation market director. Ax will be responsible for directing client services for LEO A DALY’s key airline and design-builder relationships, and for supporting growth with the firm’s aviation clients throughout the southeast and central regions of the United States. Ax has nearly 15 years of experience in the aviation indus-

try and has managed numerous small and large-scale projects for airport authorities, airlines, airport tenants, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. These include airport and terminal master planning and design, cargo facilities, airport and airline operations, aircraft hangars and air- line lounges, international arrivals facilities and federal inspec- tion stations. Prior to joining LEO A DALY, Ax served as an executive
vice president for federal programs at Gresham, Smith and Partners, Nashville, Tenn., and served as client manager for work with Southwest Airlines, Dallas. Ax also was senior project manager at Giuliani Associ-
ates Architects Inc., Alexandria, Va., where he provided plan- ning, programming, design and construction administration for projects under his direction, as well as project budgeting, scheduling and execution of the entire architecture and engi- neering team.

Apple-approved app from ATAS Allentown, Pa.-based ATAS International Inc. launched
its ATAS Complete Product Line App that was created to change the way people research and spec a project using ATAS products. Once downloaded to a tablet, the app works by swiping left to right to change prod- ucts and swiping up and down to reveal more informa- tion about each product. The app takes users through recent project installations, as well as technical prod- uct information. If the user needs more details—such as product drawings, spec data and load tables—he or she will be whisked to the ATAS website by clicking a button on each product page. ATAS also is reachable through the app with a contact button. The ATAS iPad app can be found in the Apple App Store on iTunes.
Umicore Building Products’ architectural interviews now
available in iTunes Umicore Building Products USA Inc., Raleigh, N.C., launched new video podcasts available in iTunes called, “Interviews with Architects.” Each episode is free of charge and features a different architect that has used VMZINC on one of their recent projects. All video podcast are available on iTunes and Podbean.
