The Interview ara
process, one example being our highly successful eCruit program which puts recent college graduates through a week-long immersion program, at the end of which the most talented and motivated receive offers to join our team. So far we’ve hired some exceptional team members we might otherwise never have found through traditional recruiting channels.
The company’s core product is its comprehensive event management software suite, which is designed in an intuitive manner that works the way event and marketing professionals work to plan, market and manage events.
As far as the specific fund-raising transaction goes, we found the process to be relatively smooth. Our existing investors were extremely supportive and helpful, and we brought in new institutional investors who were similarly supportive, knowledgeable and easy to work with. The entire process from exploratory meetings to final close took less than four months.
Q
How was the transaction structured/who were your main
investors?
This was our series B financing – it was structured as a preferred stock equity investment led by Level Equity. All our existing series A investors also participated, including Greycroft Partners, Cava Capital and Connecticut Innovations, which is the venture investment vehicle for the State of Connecticut.
Q
2011 saw global economic turmoil; do you think this has impacted on your 2012/2013 strategy?
We believe that our transparent pricing model, intuitive software platform and strong reputation for excellent service represent an excellent value proposition to customers, particularly in today’s uncertain economic times. In fact as the global economy has languished, we have seen our business grow quite significantly. In addition we have a fairly diverse customer base, both by industry sector and geography, which helps limit our exposure to any soft spots in the global economy.
Going forward we will continue to stress the value/service proposition, while also rolling out new modules and functionality to ensure we are fully delivering on all our customers’
expectations. We strongly believe that offering a superior product at a reasonable price is the key to success in any economic environment.
Q
Is there anything else you would like to mention?
Certainly – I’d like to add that our company has a history and culture of innovating at multiple levels. It’s not just our software that is different, but we take the spirit of innovation and put it into everything we do. For example, most companies would just hire sales people and cold call; we do not. Many organizations would just focus on booking revenue, we are focused on retention and customer satisfaction. All of our programs are focused on maximizing experience: whether it’s the best employee, partner or customer experience, we are rethinking and creating our own unique version that fits our brand personality.
