 Learn to meditate A general setting of calmness can be attained by learning the art of mindfulness and meditation. Meditation teaches the brain to work at a much slower more health-giving cycle and shows you how to dispel tensions and worries that seemed very important. It is a powerful way to get the stress out of your life and take charge once more.

 Breathe better Many people breathe from the top of their rib cage rather than deep down from the diaphragm. Shallow breathing emulates panic breathing - so taking charge of your breathing can calm your body. Once you've learned diaphragm breathing, then stand, stretch, take a deep breath and hold for a count of three. Then let the breath go at the same time as releasing the stretch. Do this three times throughout the morning and three times in the afternoon. It's really effective.
