Membership ofthe organisation is comparable to being part of a cooperative. All its members as individual PTAs are working together for a shared purpose. With that shared purpose the individuals can benefit from shared knowledge and expertise.

3 GUIDANCE ON LEGAL MATTERS

More and more members know that they need to be aware of legislation affecting a PTA's operation. This is understandably a minefield and who really has the time to trawl through lengthy documents and guidance notes produced by government departments and local authorities? Here at PTA-UK we’ve done this for you and through our Info sheets and online updates we will make things as easy for you as we can.

2 FUNDRAISING IDEAS

In our latest member survey we had it confirmed once again that all PTAs undertake some form of fundraising. We also had it reaffirmed that you love the fundraising support, guidance and fundraising ideas we provide.

1 INSURANCE

No surprises here – you all know that you need comprehensive insurance cover in place for all your PTA activities and events and your PTA-UK subscription-linked cover is second to none. There will be some enhancements and slight changes to the policy for 2013, including the criteria you need to meet if you are running an activity or event in a swimming pool. Full details can be found online.

Great new benefits

Never one to rest on our laurels the 2013 membership year is shaping up to be our best yet. For starters read about our exciting partnership with easyfundraising. org.uk on page 13 and our new- look website on page 24. We’ve also committed to doubling the number of PTA Magazines we produce from three to six a year and we will be adding new templates and info sheets throughout 2013.

Don’t miss out

Your membership will expire on the 31 December 2012 as our new membership year starts on the 1st January 2013. If your PTA has set up a Direct Debit, your membership will automatically be renewed unless you tell us otherwise. You will still receive a renewal notice so that you can tell us about any changes such as updates to your key contact information. If you pay by cheque, when you receive the invitation to renew please consider switching to Direct Debit – over 70% of PTA-UK members are now paying by this method. Whether you opt for cheque or Direct Debit please ensure this is returned with the renewal form by 31 December 2012 so there is no accidental lapse in your membership.

We need your details

We’re sure you will agree that PTA-UK has a lot to offer and we want to ensure that you get every opportunity to hear directly from us on a regular basis. It is therefore vitally important that your PTA provides us with the name of someone on your committee to be our key contact. We will need a personal email address for this nominated person who will receive updates and bulletins from PTA-UK. Please ensure that this part of the renewal form is completed in full and wherever possible please provide personal contact details. Our Privacy Policy can be viewed online.
