Activities

If activity is an important element of your holiday plans there is really nowhere better than America. Hiking, biking, horse riding, sailing, fishing and much much more are widely available everywhere, whether as part of an organised group or on an individual basis. You can stay on a working ranch or go camping in the wilds. Even city sightseeing by bike is readily available throughout the country.

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

Believe it or not shopping is the number one leisure pursuit for Brits in the US and it’s easy to see why with great value shopping malls dotting the country and some states offering tax breaks for visitors. And don’t believe for a moment that America is just about fast food; it boasts some 130 Michelin-starred restaurants! Like most things in the US, nightlife is easy with countless bars and clubs as well as theatres and cinemas galore.

Golf

Whatever your favourite sport, you can enjoy it in the US, but for most UK holidaymakers it’s golf that is the major draw. There are thousands of golf courses around the country and many of them rank amongst the world’s best. Every state

can offer good golf but Florida, South Carolina and Hawaii have some of the best championship courses – many designed by golf greats like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Robert Trent Jones – often with beautiful resorts attached.
