was host to the Olympics and today home to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Centre and the Martin Luther King Jr’s Historical Site. Historic Savannah offers cobbled streets, 22 green squares and an atmospheric riverfront as seen in movies such as Forrest Gump and Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. Antebellum homes and manicured gardens portray the many driving trails and in contrast the state’s islands provide remote beaches and outdoor activities such as kayaking, birding, hiking, cycling and miles of nature trails. In the North East are the mountains, whilst the Chattahoochee National Forest was home to the first American gold rush in Dahlonega back in 1828.
