Grants awarded to develop community programs
Six member clubs and Basic Skills pro-
grams have been awarded $2,000 each by U.S. Figure Skating for the purpose of de- veloping community-based programs and events designed to attract, involve and in- spire new generations of figure skaters. A five-member selection committee
reviewed 39 applications and awarded the grants to those member clubs and Basic Skills programs that were most effectively able to demonstrate how they would use the monies awarded to develop these initiatives. “The U.S. Figure Skating Community De-
velopment Grants are intended to assist clubs and programs in developing or expanding existing programs and to grow and promote skating within their communities,” said Susi Wehrli-McLaughlin, senior director of mem- bership.
