CLAYESMORE PREP’S choristers have sung in the homes of some famous people – the Vatican, for example. On July 9 it was the home of Mickey Mouse himself, when they sang in the 7,000 seat Videopolis Theatre in Disneyland Paris. This was the culmination of a short tour

THERE WAS great excitement among the girls at Leaden Hall before their speech day when news leaked out that X Factor star Joe McElderry was their guest of honour. On the day he was interviewed by two Year 6 leavers and, afterwards, he presented end of year prizes to the girls. The girls listened attentively as he told them about his rise to stardom. Head girl Issy Davies told him, in her vote of thanks, he was, ‘awesome’. Several girls then had their photos taken with Joe before he managed to escape!

forward to, and after a day spent in Disneyland, the choir wowed a huge audience. They presented a Disney medley, the theme tune fromTitanic, and songs fromCamp Rock andWicked.
A-LEVEL STUDENTS at Stonar have achieved outstanding successes once again. They move on well-equipped, confident and ready to engage with the wider world. For the fifth consecutive year

GODOLPHIN SCHOOL is ready for another year with enrolment fi gures the highest in several years. Samantha Price, head of Godolphin, reported in
her end of year speech that the school had enjoyed unprecedented academic success. T e school has become recognised as a centre of
excellence in several fi elds, with national success in sports disciplines, including lacrosse, cross country, athletics and equestrian, as well as winning national choral and art competitions. Academically, 10% of the Upper Sixth girls have been off ered places at Oxbridge, with the majority of girls securing a place at their fi rst choice tertiary education establishment.

immersed in A-level exams, Stonar Prep School staged an Olympics afternoon with teams fighting for the honour of Gold in a range of activities. The children were in mixed aged teams each representing a continent. They competed in welly throwing, obstacle courses, scavenger hunts and running, to promote teamwork.
