Follow-up on patients was up to 6 months after treatment.

Results Patient One The patient experienced approximately 6 days of erythema (7 days on areas treated more aggressively, 5–6 days on the rest of the face) and only 2 days of oedema. No side-effects or complications were recorded. Six months after treatment, the patient presented

noticeable improvement. Based on the Global Acne Scarring Classification, the patient demonstrated 90% improvement and based on a 10 cm Visual Analogue Scale, the subject’s acne scars appearance was reduced from 5 to 1 after the single treatment. The patient was very satisfied with the treatment as she noted a high rate of improvement in her skin tone as well. She also observed a visible reduction in wrinkles and skin pores.

Patient Two The patient experienced 7 days of erythema and 1 day of swelling. No other side-effects or complications were reported. At the 6-month follow-up, the patient presented

noticeable improvement. Based on the Global Acne Scarring Classification, the patient demonstrated an 80% improvement and based on a 10 cm Visual Analog Scale, her acne scars appearance changed from 10 to 3 after the single treatment. This very young patient noted that her unhealthy skin turned into visibly healthy skin, of which she was proud. Both patients were extremely satisfied with the results.

Discussion AcuPulse™ Combo mode is a MultiMode™ CO2

laser with technologies

for a concomitant deep and superficial impact. It enables treatment of common and challenging skin disorders characterised by textural and pigmented lesions. In the author’s experience, for patients having mild to

moderate acne scarring, one single, combined, Deep and Superficial treatment using the Combo mode enables a high rate of improvement in scarring, as well as in skin tone, with no complications and with a short downtime.
