Student housing is comprised of the Department of Housing Services and the Department of Residential Education. The professional and student staff in these departments work together to provide clean, safe and vibrant living and learning communities for DePaul University students.


THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING SERVICES


Our mission: Grounded in DePaul University’s Vincentian values and distinguishing marks, staff of the Department of Housing Services administer the processes for living on campus and partner with others in promoting this experience. We strive to provide exceptional services within our high-quality residential facilities while also encouraging residents’ personal growth and community responsibility.


Housing Services is responsible for many aspects of living on campus, including billing, assignments, residence hall front desk operations, security, facility work orders, card access, Channel 4 and the room selection process, among other things.


Students can visit the main office of Housing Services to meet with a housing assignments coordinator to submit a room change form, obtain general information or cancel their housing agreement.

FACILITY RESIDENCE DIRECTORS (FRDS) – FRDs are professional staff members that are responsible for facility management and administration. FRDs live on campus and manage specific housing areas. The FRDs coordinate all housing inspections, clarify and enforce standards of health and safety for residents, and manage most building access-related issues. Facilities assistants (FAs), who perform building inspections within designated areas, report to the FRDs. In addition to supervising the FAs, the FRDs also supervise the desk receptionists (DRs), who monitor access control to the residence halls.The FRDs also respond to major facility-related emergencies outside of normal business hours.
