AET’s new solar collectors for commercial buildings AET has launched a high-quality fl at plate solar thermal collector designed to harvest free energy from the sun for use in commercial space or water heating applications. The fl at plate absorbers are fi nished in a high-quality selective coating, which has been developed to increase the amount of heat energy harvested by the absorber. The coating is applied using the environmentally friendly physical vapour deposition (PVD) technique. As part of a multi-million pound restoration programme, Lochinvar high effi ciency condensing boilers and water heaters have been installed at Abbotsford, the home of famed Scottish writer and poet, Sir Walter Scott. Abbotsford, near Melrose in the Scottish Borders, was designed and developed by Scott, one of the foremost literary fi gures of the 19th century.
