From the Chief Executive
Our aims for providing healthcare for Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire are ambitious. We serve a population of 600,000 people living across Hampshire and West Berkshire, including Andover, Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh, Alton, Bordon, Romsey and many other towns and villages.
We will provide high quality care and will continue to develop and improve services, whether delivered in the community or in our hospitals.
Our plan is to provide more of our services locally, wherever possible. We are already working with partners in the community, including GPs and local authorities, to make this happen. Our new cancer centre will mean people in the north of our area won’t have to travel as far for treatment as they do currently. We will use mobile and fixed community facilities to make more of our diagnostic and treatment services available locally.
We will continue to provide innovative, leading-edge services in our hospitals, providing all general hospital services at both of our main sites, as well as continuing to provide our nationally renowned services for certain cancers and haemophilia.
We have set ourselves some tough tasks. We know our members’ support and our partnerships will be very important to our success.
This report is an overview of our work over the past year and a summary of our plans for the year ahead. If you would like to read the full Annual Report and Accounts 2011/12, visit our website, www.hampshirehospitals.nhs.uk

Thank you for your interest and support.
