NeoGames Granted Danish License
N
eoGames, global leaders of interactive scratch cards and instant win games, has been granted an operator’s license in Denmark by Danish
gambling authority, Spillemyndigheden. Powered by its vast portfolio of Instant Win games and coupled with targeted operational and marketing services, NeoGames has already signed deals with a number of skilled and experienced Marketing and Media companies to launch websites targeting the Instant Win and soft casino market in Denmark. “We have high hopes and are thrilled to enter the
newly regulated market in Denmark,” said NeoGames Managing Director Shay Bar-Joseph. “As we have learned in other regulated markets such as Italy and Belgium, there is a true market need for an offering that does not necessarily focus on hardcore cCasino, but rather combines a softer and more mass market approach. The fact that we already have a few customers that will launch their sites immediately is yet another demonstration of our strategy”
M
ore than 30 companies have now submitted applications to operate an online poker site in Nevada, with Wynn
Resorts being the latest to join the growing list. Wynn had a partnership agreement in place with PokerStars more than a year ago, but the U.S. Department of Justice upset plans by indicting and seizing the domain along with Full Tilt and Absolute Poker. Wynn is now reportedly in serious discussions with Zynga, the Facebook social gaming highflyer, to bring real money play to Nevada residents. With Zynga having over 30 million active monthly users playing free-play Zynga Poker, Wynn apparently has their eye on the
global marketplace following interstate and worldwide expansion that is expected to occur after intrastate online poker is solidly entrenched in Nevada.
Other major Las Vegas casino companies, such as MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment, have already applied for Internet poker licenses, as well as companies such as LV Gaming Ventures, LLC (M Resort), Z4 Poker, LLC (David and Eric Colvin), SG Gaming, Inc., WHG Ltd. (Playtech), Global Cash Access and Wyle
Laboratories. The comlpete list is now at more than 30 entities.
Nevada continues making progress in its quest to become the first state to offer online poker. Last week Bally Technologies, International Game Technology and William Hill received recommendations for approval of poker licenses from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Meanwhile, the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee will meet to discuss online poker fee structures and license requirements for those applicants who do pass the muster and obtain licensing.
