In 2008, 54 percent of respondents reported that at least 90 percent of the room block for their largest meeting was picked up by their organization; only 34 percent could say the same in 2009.

Association and independent meeting professionals reported that, on average, 49 percent of the revenue from their largest 2009 event came from registration, while 27 percent came from exhibit sales, and 16 percent came from sponsorships and grants. The sources of revenue are similar to last year.
