Guinness Asset Management is a specialist fund house which focuses on long- term dynamic growth trends through actively managed, long-only funds.
With roughly $350 million of assets under management, the firm concentrates on the themes that are driving the global economy, from growth in Asia to new energy sources, while using a blend of top-down and bottom-up strategies.
Potential investments are ranked according to return on investment, valuation, earnings trends and price momentum.
Significant time is spent considering the macro drivers for the investments, while a nuts and bolts examination of the financials of the candidate companies is also considered.
All global economic and industry research is performed in-house by a team of managers, in an attempt to avoid being led by the market.
The firm believes that energy investing is a powerful tool in protecting portfolios against inflation, and that alternative energy is a trend for the long term that investors are now starting to recognize as having huge potential over the next twenty years.
Energy funds were the first of Guinness’s portfolios, but in recent years it has launched a regional fund for Asia and a fund focused on China and Hong Kong as well as a Global Equity Income Fund and a Global Thematic Fund based on identifying and profiting from key economic trends.
