t was not just XL Beggars that was on a real high during the first quarter of 2011. Warner in that period delivered


four of the 10 biggest artist albums through releases by Bruno Mars, Plan B, Cee Lo Green and Rumer. Mars was still in the frame 12 months


later with Doo-Wops & Hooligans finishing as Q1 2012’s sixth biggest album, while fellow Warner act Ed Sheeran was two places higher with his Asylum/Atlantic debut +. But that pair aside, the major did not have the same firepower between January and March as

later to 4.7% with the major’s only presence among the quarter’s Top 10 sellers a stake in R&B Slowjamz with UMTV. The story was better


on singles where its share rose across the 12 months from 13.2% to 14.1% and sales increased by around


720,000 units. Atlantic act Flo Rida provided Warner’s top two singles


of the period and Ed Sheeran the third and fourth biggest sellers.
